‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ Producers Announce ‘Picnic’ With Sandeep Pradeep In Lead Role
Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran’s production house Bhavana Studios are already onto their next project after the hugely successful blockbuster “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” and the success of “Premalu” and Variety India has learned that it will be a family entertainer starring Sandeep Pradeep, who starred in films like “Padakkalam” and “Ekō” (both films released last year). The film, titled “Picnic,” is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on January 14, 2027.

Kiran Josey, who shares writing credits with Girish AD on both “BKU” and “Premalu”, makes his directorial debut with “Picnic” and has Anurag O.B. on board as the film’s co-writer. While the film’s female lead hasn’t been announced, the extensive ensemble features Indrajith Sukumaran (the elder brother of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran), Dileesh Pothan, Sujin Sreedharan, Akshatha Ajith, Reshma Jose and others.

Cinematography is by Adarsh Sadanandan (who worked on the short “Anurag Engineering Works” and editing is by Sanath Sivaraj (who worked in the wings for “Premalu”.
Govind Vasantha, who composed for films like “G.D.N.,” “Chinna Chinna Asai” and “Last Man In Tower” earlier this year, is on board as the film’s music director with lyrics by Suhail Koya. The movie will also release in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages.
