Malayalam film “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” has set a new streaming benchmark in India, emerging as the most-watched non-Hindi film during its opening weekend on streaming. The film, which is available on JioHotstar, recorded the milestone between October 2 and 4, according to Ormax StreamView.
The film also holds another distinction for its theatrical run. “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” has been rated the most-liked theatrical film in India in 2026 across languages, with an Ormax Power Rating (OPR) of 92.
According to Ormax, the streaming figures are based on unique audiences in India who watched the film for more than 30 minutes during its opening weekend. The measurement includes viewers across all language versions of the film.
The streaming milestone further highlights the growing reach of Malayalam cinema beyond its theatrical market, with “Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” finding a sizable audience following its move to streaming.
The film's OPR score of 92 also places it at the top of Ormax's list of the most-liked theatrical films released in India this year across languages, underlining its strong audience reception.
