‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ Overtakes ‘Jana Nayagan’ To Become Mamitha Baiju’s Highest Grosser Of All Time
“Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” continues its strong theatrical run even after more than 38 days. While the coming-of-age flick has already emerged as the highest Malayalam worldwide grosser of all time, surpassing “Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra” (₹301.41 crore), it has surpassed the Tamil film “Jana Nayagan” (₹324.61 crore) to become lead actor Mamitha Baiju’s highest grosser. The film currently stands at ₹328.48 crore and might end its theatrical run around ₹330 crore
“Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” emerged as a major Onam winner, outperforming Prithviraj Sukumaran’s “Khalifa” and Dulquer Salmaan’s “I’m Game,” which released two weeks later.
Made on a budget of ₹23 crore, the slice-of-life film is one of the most profitable movies of 2026. Interestingly, Malayalam cinema has enjoyed a phenomenal year at the global box office, with “Drishyam 3,” “Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros,” and “Aadu 3” registering strong numbers at the ticket windows.

“Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” was recently released in Tamil and Telugu-dubbed versions and registered decent numbers in both languages.
The film is currently the sixth-highest-grossing Indian film worldwide in 2026, behind “Dhurandhar 2” (₹1,813.39 crore), “Border 2” (₹450.19 crore), “Hanuman Ansh” (₹372 crore), “Toxic” (₹342.13 crore) and “Peddi” (₹341.90 crore). However, it will soon be overtaken by “Mirzapur: The Movie,” will soon overtake it currently standing at ₹323 crore.
Directed by Girish A. D., of “Premalu,” “Super Sharanya” and “Thanneer Mathan Dinangal” fame, the movie also stars Nivin Pauly, Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Mohan, Suresh Krishna, Vinay Forrt, Srinda and Meenakshi Raveendran, among others, in prominent roles.
“Bethlehem Kudumba Unit” is produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the banners Fahadh Faasil and Friends, Bhavana Studios and Working Class Hero.
The music of the film is composed by Vishnu Vijay, and the cinematography is by Ajmal Sabu.
