Aamir Khan on Wedding With Gauri Spratt: ‘It Will Be a Simple Registered Marriage At Home’
By Subhash K Jha,
Aamir Khan recently confirmed to Vairety India that he will be marrying his partner, Gauri Spratt, on July 5. The actor now reveals that the wedding will be an intimate celebration. Khan and Spratt have opted to keep it an understated family occasion. The actor says, “(It will be) very private. It’s a very simple registered marriage, at home, with just both the families, and really close friends.”
Bemused by the frenzy surrounding his impending nuptials, he says, “I don’t see why (there’s all the frenzy). There is too much interest in the lives of celebrities, especially cricketers and actors. People should be interested in our work, not our personal lives,” Khan agrees that social media has dramatically altered notions of privacy. “I don’t know how the information on my wedding had leaked. These days, nothing is off-bounds.”

The actor had introduced Gauri Spratt, who hails from Bengaluru, to the media in March this year during his 60th birthday celebrations. They have since made many public appearances together, including the premiere of Sitaare Zameen Par. Khan, who has described this as a very happy phase in his life, makes no attempt to hide his happiness. “Gauri and I are both very happy. She is a blessing,” he shares.
He was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira, and later to filmmaker Kiran Rao, with whom he has a son, Azad. Notably, the actor has maintained amicable relationships with both of his former spouses, and they continue to share a close and supportive bond.
