‘Supermax’: ‘Michael’ Star Jaafar Jackson Lands Major Project With Will Smith

Jaafar Jackson made a favorable impression on audiences and critics with his debut film, “Michael,” which was a global hit. It became the highest-grossing biopic in cinema history. Jackson is now joining the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming action thriller project, “Supermax.” He will be sharing screen with Will Smith and AnnaSophia Robb. The 30-year-old actor played the role of the King of Pop with a finesse that left everyone by surprise.  

“Supermax” will be a completely new genre for Jackson set in the world of action and suspense. The movie will be directed by David Gordon Green whose repertoire of films include titles like “Halloween” films, “The Exorcist: Believer,” (2023) and “Nutcrackers,” (2024). “Supermax” is about two FBI agents who decide to investigate a murder inside a high-profile prison. As they unravel secrets, they realize they have become part of a conspiracy that can prove fatal for them. 

Will Smith plays veteran FBI agent Rex, while actress AnnaSophia Robb is his investigative partner. Amazon MGM Studios has not shared any details about the character of Jaafar Jackson so far. 

Jaafar Jackson, who is the son of Jermaine Jackson was chosen by his grandmother to play the role of Michael Jackson in the film directed by Antoine Fuqua. The screenplay of “Supermax” has been written by David Weil and David J. Rosen. They are also the executive producers of the same. Will Smith is also a co-producer with Adam Fishbach. “Supermax” is one of the big-budget upcoming titles from Amazon MGM Studios.
