‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Hits 15.2 Million Views in Five Days on Streaming, Disney’s Biggest Live-Action Movie Premiere Since ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” reached 15.2 million views globally in its first five days of streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

That total, calculated by dividing the total amount of time the film was streamed by its 119-minute runtime, makes the Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway-led sequel the Disney streamers’ biggest live-action movie debut since “Deadpool & Wolverine” in 2024. While Disney did not release an exact five-day total for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” it did report that the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry reached 19.4 million views in six days, meaning the discrepancy between it and “The Devil Wears Prada 2” when considering five days of viewership for both films is likely considerably less than 4.2 million.

It should be noted that, like “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2” was a theatrical release before it hit streaming. The film was a box office success, reaching $220.6 million in the U.S. and $691.4 million globally on a budget of $100 million. The fact that it reached such a wide audience in theaters makes its streaming viewership doubly impressive, indicating that its audience continues to expand widely more than two months after its initial release and/or that it holds strong rewatch appeal.

Along with Streep and Hathaway, Stanley Tucchi and Emily Blunt reprise their original “The Devil Wears Prada” roles in the sequel, joined by new cast members Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, B.J. Novak and more. Like the original film, “The Devil Wears Prada 2” was directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna based on characters by Lauren Weisberger from her 2003 book based on her experience working at Vogue as Anna Wintour’s assistant.
