‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’ Trailer 2: Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama Faces Yash’s Ravana in New International Trailer

The second trailer of “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend”, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana, has been unveiled as the makers step up the film’s international promotional campaign. The new footage offers another glimpse into the scale of Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the epic, with a voiceover introducing Rama as “not a God, but a man” who stands as humanity’s hope against the growing threat of Ravana.

The trailer opens with a narration setting the stage for Ravana’s rise. “The time when men walked among Gods, an evil rose among darkness,” the voiceover says, before the focus shifts to Yash’s Ravana. The character declares, “For me, every head will bow,” establishing his ambition to rule through fear and submission.

The footage also introduces Kunal Kapoor as Indra, the king of the gods, riding Airavata, his divine elephant. In a striking sequence, Ravana confronts the celestial figure and strikes Airavata, sending the elephant crashing to the ground. The moment offers a glimpse of Ravana’s power and the threat he poses beyond the mortal world.

The trailer then turns to Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama, positioning him as the figure who must stand against Ravana. “Men have one hope. Not a God, but man. Rama,” the narration declares. Kapoor’s character follows this with a resolute warning: “If I don’t stop him, the world will fall. This is just the beginning.”

The new trailer arrives as the film’s international campaign gathers momentum, with Sony Pictures International leading its global rollout. The project is being presented to international audiences as “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend”, with the campaign seeking to introduce the Indian epic to viewers who may be encountering the story for the first time.

Directed by Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is planned as a two part cinematic adaptation. The ensemble features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, alongside Yash as Ravana and Ranbir Kapoor as Rama. Kunal Kapoor plays Indra.

The film also brings together composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with screenplay adaptation by Shridhar Raghavan and Tiwari. DNEG is handling the visual effects, and the film has been designed for IMAX and other premium large formats.

“Ramayana: Rise of a Legend” is scheduled to release worldwide in cinemas on November 5, 2026. The second instalment is expected to arrive during Diwali 2027.
