‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’ Gets PG-13 Rating in US, IMAX Lists 3-Hour-15-Minute Runtime
The Motion Picture Association (MPA) in the United States has assigned “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend” a PG-13 rating, indicating that certain elements of the film may not be suitable for viewers under 13. While the classification is broadly comparable to India’s U/A certificate, it advises parental discretion for younger audiences.
According to the MPA’s official website, the decision stems from the film’s depiction of intense action and violence, along with some graphic imagery involving blood.

The film’s international runtime has also come into focus. IMAX lists the duration of "Ramayana: Rise of a Legend" at 3 hours and 15 minutes, placing it well beyond the three-hour mark. However, trade sources suggest that the English-language cut could have a shorter runtime of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. The final duration has not been confirmed by the makers yet. If the duration is more than 3 hours, “Ramayana” would mark Kapoor’s second film to cross this duration, “Animal” being his first. The animal for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial stood at 3 hours and 21 minutes.
