After the Gujarati film “Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate” and the Hindi film “Hanuman Ansh,” Kannada film “Premada Oorali” is the latest example of a film exploding at the box-office a couple of weeks after a rather subdued start.
Following an unbelievable jump of over 344% in its second week, the romantic family drama entered its third week on a fantastic note. It raked in ₹4.50 crore on its third Friday, recording its biggest single-day collection since release.

The film now stands at ₹33.47 crore and has the potential to cross the ₹45 crore mark by the end of its third weekend before setting its sights on the ₹50-crore milestone.

“Premada Oorali” has had one of the most interesting box-office journeys of 2026. The film opened to a modest ₹10 lakh on its first day, but with positive word-of-mouth and relatable content, it witnessed a remarkable turnaround in the second week of release.

Made on a reportedly modest budget of ₹2 crore, the film has held its ground in its home state despite competition from biggies like Nani’s “The Paradise” and Ajay Devgn’s “Drishyam: The Conclusion.” It is now riding its momentum, emerging as the first choice for cinegoers in Karnataka and Kannada-speaking areas.

After poor performances of films like “Toxic” and “KD: The Devil,” the success of “Premada Oorali” is a relief for the Kannada film industry. Directed by Manoj Kumar, the film stars Rangayana Raghu, Shree Raam, Tapaswini Poonaccha, Ramika Shivu and Govinde Gowda in pivotal roles. It is backed by Mamatha Devendra M and Devendra Medarametla under their banner, Vanilla Entertainments.
