In 2026, several films like “Main Vaapas Aaunga,” “Hanuman Ansh,” “Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros” and “Youth,” among others, showed how power of positive word-of-mouth can turn small films into box office successes. The latest film to join the bandwagon is “Premada Oorali.”
The Kannada romantic comedy drama is a small film made at a reportedly modest budget of ₹2 crore and features no known faces, barring Rangayana Raghu.
While the film earned ₹5.32 crore in its first week, it witnessed a huge turnaround in its second week by raking in ₹23.65 crore, a growth of 344.55%. It currently stands at a grand total of ₹28.97 crore.

With a 1,348.5% return on investment (ROI), it has emerged as one of the most profitable ventures in the history of Indian cinema. The film has turned out to be a sigh of relief for the Kannada film industry, with exceptional numbers in B and C centers of Karnataka like Raichuru, Kolar, Bidar, Madhugiri, Shidlaghatta, Ranibennur, Kadur and others.
With no big competition in the coming weeks, especially due to the absence of local releases, “Premada Oorali” is expected to enjoy a smooth run and might have an outright chance to touch the ₹50 crore benchmark. The film opened with less than 50 shows during its arrival and is now enjoying over 700 shows at the box office.
Directed by Manoj Kumar, the film also stars Shree Raam, Tapaswini Poonaccha, Ramika Shivu and Govinde Gowda in pivotal roles.
Produced by Mamatha Devendra M and Devendra Medarametla under their banner Vanilla Entertainments, Rajkanth SK handled the cinematography. While Sunaad Gowtham composed the music, Harshith Prabhu handled the editing.
