The makers of Dhanush and Mammootty-starrer “Om” have announced the new release date of their actioner. The film, which was delayed from October 16 to avoid a box-office clash with Rajinikanth’s “Jailer 2,” will now arrive on November 20.
The makers shared the new release date on their social media accounts with a poster featuring Dhanush and Mammootty wielding guns.
Interestingly, the film will also be the second release of Sai Pallavi, who also has the “Ramayana,” which is arriving during the Diwali weekend.
Officially titled “OM Chapter 1: Udhiram - The Blood Wood,” the film also stars Sreeleela, with Naseeruddin Shah and Indrans. It is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who won the Best Director National Award for his previous film “Amaran,” featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi.

Produced by Dhanush, Shraddha Agrawal and Azmat Jagmag under their banners Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios, the album of the film is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, with the editing and camera department handled by R. Kalaivanan and K. Ezhil Arasu, respectively.
Planned to release in two parts, the first chapter will also hit the screens in the dubbed languages of Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada, along with the original language of Tamil.
Apart from “Om,” Dulquer Salmaan, Satvika Veeravalli and Shruti Haasan-starrer Telugu romantic film “Aakasamlo Oka Tara” is also releasing on November 20. Directed by Pavan Sadineni, the film will have a simultaneous release in the dubbed languages of Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
Talking about Dhanush, apart from “Om,” he also has Mari Selvaraj's next, followed by “Lubber Pandhu” director Pachaimuthu Thamizharasan's project and “Vada Chennai 2”. The actor was also supposed to do the biopic of APJ Abdul Kalam, but its production remains uncertain.
