Kartik Aaryan In Talks with Namah Pictures For A Reema Kagti Film (EXCLUSIVE)

Following “Satyaprem Ki Katha” and “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri,” Kartik Aaryan and Namah Pictures are exploring another collaboration. Variety India has exclusively learned that Kartik is in talks with the banner for a new project, directed by Reema Kagti, best known for helming “Talaash,” “Gold,” “Dahaad” and “Superboys of Malegaon.”

Kartik and Reema's potential collaboration comes as an unexpected development, given the contrasting cinematic sensibilities associated with their individual projects. Sources say Kartik is actively looking for roles that challenge his established screen image and allow him to showcase his versatility, and Reema's film will be a distinctive addition to his body of work. The project, however, is currently at the very initial stage of development, with all other details strictly kept under wraps. Kartik hasn't yet given his nod, but he remains the leading contender.

The Reema Kagti film is one of three projects Namah Pictures is presently developing for the coming year. Sources have exclusively revealed that the Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora-led company has also signed on directors Vishal Devrukhkar (Boyz franchise, Bamboo) and Dnyanesh Zoting (Collar Bomb) for a fantasy drama and a psychological horror thriller, respectively. All these movies are currently in the writing stage, with no production timelines set yet.

Namah Pictures has previously produced films like “Beyond the Clouds,” “Anandi Gopal,” “Lost” and “Satyaprem Ki Katha.” Up next, they have a web series, “Phoolan,” about the Bandit Queen, Phoolan Devi, who, trapped and outnumbered by 2000 armed men, fights a brutal 48-hour siege that will either end her life or rewrite the rules of a deeply embedded patriarchy. The show premieres on Prime Video later this year.

Kartik has a packed slate of movies ahead. He will next be seen in Anurag Basu's musical romance with Sreeleela, followed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba's “Naagzilla” on Valentine's Day weekend next year. He also has Kabir Khan's upcoming sports drama and Shimit Amin's action thriller, “Captain India.” Additionally, he's also said to be in talks for Luv Ranjan and Aanand L. Rai's next directorials. Anees Bazmee's “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” is also in development for a mid-2027 production.
