It’s Tabu Vs Nagarjuna in ‘King100’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Variety India has learned that Nagarjuna’s 100th film, tentatively titled “King100,” will see him sharing screen space with Tabu after 28 years. This time around, she will be playing the antagonist. The first schedule of the film was wrapped up recently. Directed by RA Karthik, the film is produced by Annapurna Studios.
Tabu and Nagarjuna first worked together in the 1996 Telugu romantic drama “Ninne Pelladata,” which enjoyed a great run at the box office and won several accolades. They later shared screen space in films such as “Sisindri” (1999) and “Aavida Maa Aavide” (1998); since then, they haven’t shared screen space.

Tabu has previously played morally ambiguous characters, such as the manipulative Nimmi in “Maqbool,” the embittered Begum Hazrat Jaan in “Fitoor,” Ghazala Meer in “Haider” and the chillingly deceptive Simi in “Andhadhun,” with great flair. Nagarjuna in the lead and Tabu in a rare villainous role have already generated considerable interest within industry circles.
The “Haider” actor was last seen in the horror-comedy “Bhooth Bangla,” which also featured Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi and Paresh Rawal. Tabu also expanded her international footprint with a key role as Sister Francesca in HBO’s “Dune: Prophecy,” set in the acclaimed “Dune” universe.
Nagarjuna was an established star in the South industry when he made his Hindi film debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s film “Shiva” in 1989. Over the years, he has maintained a steady presence in Hindi cinema, with films such as “Khuda Gawah,” “Drohi,” “Criminal,” “Zakhm,” “LOC Kargil” and, more recently, “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.”
He was last seen in the Telugu crime drama “Kuberaa,” directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-starring Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna.
