iHeartRadio’s ‘The Woody Show’ Host Apologizes After Racist Comments Against BTS’ Jungkook and Fans ARMY
Woody from “The Woody Show” has issued a public apology for his comments regarding the K-Pop group BTS, Jungkook and their fandom, BTS ARMY. The radio host spoke out after receiving backlash from the fans of the group. This comes after he had previously mispronounced the singer’s name, saying, “You could tell on Jang Jook’s face, whatever the F his name is. I don’t even know what his name is, there’s a Juk something. Jin Cook?”
The bunch went on to react against the fans of the group who have been demanding an answer from iHeartRadio Music Festival after allegedly cutting short BTS’ performance. Soon after, comments calling out his actions and the attempted racism by mispronouncing his name surfaced on X and other social media platforms.

“What social media account should we tell the BTS ARMY to go to to suck it?”, Woody said referencing the fandom. Fellow Sebastian Davis added some more provocative comments, to which he responded with “Yes, the BTS ARMY: losers, losers, losers. There you go. And you know what I’m basing that on? I’m basing that on everything that I read online.”
A day after making those comments, Woody shared a public apology video, reflecting on his actions. “I got Jungkook's name wrong. I should have taken a couple of seconds to make sure I knew how to pronounce his name. And so I'm sincerely apologizing to Jungkook for that. No offense intended, but to the BTS ARMY, I did get defensive. I said some things I shouldn't have. And again, that's on me. I did get caught up in the moment. And so for that I apologize.”
He went on to appreciate BTS’ achievements and called the South Korean septet “one of the biggest groups in the world.”
