Chiranjeevi Resolves Producer-Exhibitor Conflict, Ahead Of Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ Release
Megastar Chiranjeevi mediated the standoff between the producers and exhibitors over the release model of “Peddi.”
The upcoming big-budget film became the focal point of a larger industry debate. While exhibitors in Telangana wanted to implement a percentage-sharing model instead of the existing rental system, local producers fought hard against this decision, citing poor timing given the current market scenario. This led to heated arguments on both sides, with neither party willing to budge from their stance.
When matters escalated and conversations reached a deadlock, Chiranjeevi stepped in and met with prominent exhibitors at his residence a few days ago. In addition, Ram Charan’s uncle, actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Pawan Kalyan, also met a few top producers in Rajahmundry, assuring them of his support.

Meeting details
As per the announcement made by the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce on behalf of Telangana Exhibitors, Chiranjeevi assured them that he will monitor/oversee the meetings/outcome of the Sub-Committee regularly and ensure the percentage system is implemented by the 30th June deadline. Consequently, the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to facilitate the smooth release of “Peddi” on June 4.
Moving forward
Telangana producers and distributors agreed on a formula to be finalized in the next 30 days. They mutually transitioned to a percentage-based revenue-sharing model (60:50:40).
Under this system, the revenue split from gross ticket sales is structured as follows:
Week 1: Producers/Distributors receive 60%; Exhibitors retain 40%.
Week 2: Producers/Distributors receive 50%, Exhibitors retain 50%
Week 3: Producers/Distributors receive 40%; Exhibitors retain 60%.
Chiranjeevi’s timely intervention has successfully averted a major theatrical crisis, clearing the path for "Peddi’s" smooth release. By helping the industry transition to a balanced, percentage-based revenue model, he managed to protect the interests of both producers and exhibitors. Once again, the Megastar has proven to be Tollywood’s ultimate peacemaker, ensuring that business stability and big-screen entertainment go hand in hand.
