Day 3 of Lakmé Fashion Week belonged squarely to Anushree Reddy's star-studded runway, which drew the week's biggest celebrity-spotting turnout, with front-row loyalists proudly wearing her formal creations. The highlight of the evening was the stunning runway drama anchored by two generational icons: legendary supermodel Sheetal Malhar scorched the ramp, oozing organic sensuousness in a blood-red sari and backless choli, while youthful actress Sara Arjun stole hearts as the official showstopper, carrying a regal purple fishnet lehenga and off-shoulder blouse with effortless charm and natural poise.

Even the staging felt theatrical, set against a dark ambiance with a floral pathway and flickering candles—though heavy fern decor unfortunately blocked guests at the far end from seeing the models’ grand entries. Adding to the star power was a gender-neutral touch: male models in sharp floral achkans, all wearing Reddy’s fiercely luxurious, ornate designs that completely took over the stage and beautifully amplified the star-studded energy of the short but highly impactful show.
Anushree Reddy’s MAYA is an exploration of femininity, color and craft. The founder and creative director Reddy says, “MAYA began with a question I asked myself: what next? After more than a decade of building a world I love, I wanted to step back, start from scratch and challenge my own aesthetic. This collection allowed me to explore craft in its most exuberant form while imagining a bride who dreams freely and sees herself in 100 different ways. MAYA is about that feeling of stepping into an illusion, something familiar yet completely new.”
