Subhashree Ganguly And Dev Adhikari’s New Bengali Film, ‘DeSu7’ To Go On Floors In June (EXCLUSIVE)

One of the most awaited Bengali movies of 2026 is going to be the Dev Adhikari and Subhashree Ganguly starrer “DeSu7,” (working title) that will be released in Durga Puja 2026. The couple are one of the most iconic pairs of contemporary commercial Bengali cinema. Sources close to the development informed Variety India that shoot will begin in full swing after the West Bengal Elections. The Legislative Assembly elections will take place from April 23 to 29, 2026. The counting of votes will take place on May 4, 2026.

The source added that the mahurat of the film will take place on the auspicious occasion of Poila Boisakh, the Bengali New Year. Fans of the two actors can also expect announcements around other films. The producers plan to wrap up the filming of the movie from June to August. After a month of promotions in September, it should be ready to release during Durga Puja 2026. It is supposed to be a romantic drama packed with emotions.

Dev Adhikari and Subhashree Ganguly are one of the most successful pairs of Bengali cinema. Their major past hits include “Challenge” (2009), “Paran Jai Jaliya Re” (2009), “Romeo” (2011), “Khokababu” (2012) and “Khoka 420” (2013). The script-writing of the movie is underway.
