Vikas Bahl, known for films like “Queen,” “Super 30” and more, is currently working on his next film, an untitled movie, set against the UK’s Punjabi music explosion of the 1990s. It follows a generation of young immigrants finding their voice through music, friendship and rebellion. Previously, Variety India had also reported the same, stating that the director was developing a musical drama with Alizeh Agnihotri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
It stars Jimmy Shergill, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mona Singh and Alizeh Agnihotri in leading roles. The plotline and characters have been kept under the wraps.

The film, set in Britain in the early ‘90s, unfolds against the rise of the UK Punjabi music movement. As per the makers, the film will capture a defining period when a generation caught between two cultures found its voice through music, emerging from garages, backrooms, pirate radio stations and underground gigs.
As per the synopsis, “It was a time when Punjabi dhol collided with basslines and when young brown artistes with their unique sound fought their way to music charts, making their whole community visible. Set against this cultural explosion, the film is a coming-of-age story about music, identity, family, friendship and belonging."

Apart from Shergill, Chaturvedi, Singh and Agnihotri, the film also brings together an ensemble of international actors, musicians and performers to recreate intense moments.
Shergill was last seen in the OTT drama “Operation Safed Sagar.” As for Siddhant, his last release was the theatrical project “Do Deewane Seher Mein.” Mona Singh was seen in “Subedaar” while Alizeh’s last movie was her debut “Farrey.” Variety India had also reported that she’d be seen in “College Fest,” alongside Purav Jha and Ashish Chanchlani.
