Veer Pahariya and Aparshakti Khurana to headline comedy-drama ‘Prem Keetanu’
Veer Pahariya, Aparshakti Khurana and Aafiya Sayed are set to star in the upcoming comedy-drama “Prem Keetanu,” the first film from producer Gaurav Verma’s newly launched banner Avanika Films.
Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, known for “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai” and “Aspirants,” the film also stars Rakesh Bedi and Nikhil Vijay in pivotal roles. Set against the backdrop of college life, “Prem Keetanu” follows a group of young men navigating friendship, heartbreak, aspirations and the uncertainties of growing up.
The film explores the lighter and more relatable side of young India, centering on boys who may not have found much success in academics, love or life but find solace in friendship. Its comic take on heartbreak and youthful aspirations aims to connect with younger audiences while evoking nostalgia among older viewers.

“Prem Keetanu” marks the first title from Avanika Films, founded by Verma with a focus on stories that combine emotional authenticity with theatrical appeal. Verma was previously an independent producer at Red Chillies Entertainment, where he was associated with films including “Darlings,” “Bhakshak,” “Jawan” and “Badla.”
The production house plans to build a diverse slate of theatrical films balancing fresh storytelling with mainstream entertainment. Presented in association with Phars Films, the film will release worldwide in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
Aparshakti Khurana has steadily built a reputation as one of Hindi cinema’s dependable performers. He made his Hindi film debut with “Dangal” (2016) and went on to stand out in projects such as “Stree,” “Pati Patni Aur Woh,” “Jubilee,” and “Berlin.” Known for his comic timing and versatility, he has gradually taken on more substantial roles.
Veer Pahariya made his acting debut with “Sky Force” (2025), starring alongside Akshay Kumar. He will also be seen alongside Varun Sharma in the action thriller Naam, presented by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by Sidhaanth Sachdev. With “Prem Keetanu,” he takes on another role, exploring a youthful, comic character.
