Varun Dhawan-Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ Averts Clash with Yash-starrer ‘Toxic’; Gets A New Release Date
By Sakshi Navare,
Recently, the makers of Yash-starrer “Toxic” shifted its release date from March 19 to June 4 due to the conflict in the Middle East. However, the new release dateof the epic gangster drama initiated its box-office battle with Varun Dhawan’s “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” which was scheduled to release on June 5.
Now the makers of Varun’s rom-com have averted the clash with Yash’s pan-India biggie by postponing its release date by a week. Sharing the new release date on Instagram, the “Badlapur” actor posted a note, which reads, “We would like to clarify that our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after several developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.”

The note further adds, “We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date. In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to 12th June and bring our film to the audience one week later.”
Directed by David Dhawan, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Chunky Panday, Maniesh Paul, Mouni Roy, Jimmy Sheirgill, Kubbra Sait, Rajesh Kumar, Rakesh Bedi and Ali Asgar in supporting roles. It marks the reunion of father-son duo, David and Varun Dhawan, after “Main Tera Hero,” “Judwaa 2” and “Coolie No. 1” and is bankrolled by Ramesh Taurani under the banner of Tips Films.
