‘Toxic’: Yash Confirms August 26 Release, Honors His Roots With Festive Date

"Toxic" is coming to theatres on August 26 with Yash confirming the same with a new poster on Father's Day that resonates with the movie's violent theme around family and legacy. It has 'Honour Thy Father' written on it. We can see a couple of characters in the poster with one of them being Yash as Raya, the don. The Kannada superstar will be seen in a double role in Geetu Mohandas's film. "Toxic" is one of the biggest releases of the year. It was initially supposed to release in April but then the date moved to June 2026. The West Asia crisis pushed the release date even further but now it seems all set to be presented for the global audience. The movie has been filmed in Kannada and English.

The Middle East is one of the biggest markets for Indian films. The makers in their previous official note highlighted how the decision was taken keeping in mind all the interests of the stakeholders and the audience. With heavy-duty action scenes and VFX, the post-production work on "Toxic" also took up a long time.

"Toxic" is a period action drama set in Goa recreating the era of the 1960s. Yash's love for his Kannada roots is unmissable even in this announcement. The movie is coming during the Varahamahalakshmi Festival, which is celebrated across homes in Karnataka. The festival starts on August 21 and culminates on August 28, and this week is traditionally regarded as one of the most coveted windows in Karnataka's film trade. Landmark hits such as "Jogi" helped cement the festival corridor's reputation as a golden frame for star-driven entertainers.

"Toxic" is one of the most expensive films of the year with a budget of close to ₹ 800 crore. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth. Yash is playing a double role in the film of a father (Raya) and his son.

Cinematography is by Rajeev Ravi, with music by Ravi Basrur. Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the film is being mounted as an ambitious global release, but its latest announcement shows that Karnataka remains very much at the heart of its journey.

"Toxic" will be distributed across India and the globe in languages like Kannada, English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. There are no big Indian films coming out that week making it a clean date for the makers. They can enjoy an extended run even in September as there are no big releases in the first two weeks.
