In Prime Video’s latest YA (young adult) offering, “The Last Sunrise”, Eva Longoria plays mother to Maia Reficco’s Ry. The romantic drama is about a college student living with a chronic illness who finds unexpected romance during a summer trip away with her mother as she closes a real estate deal. Going by the trailer, “The Last Sunrise” is exactly like the kind of summer escapism one would expect. And the setting of Mallorca, Spain, doesn’t just look great, but also makes one believe the cast would’ve had a blast shooting the otherwise emotional film about love and family.

Speaking about building their mother-daughter dynamic on screen and working with Maia Reficco, Eva Longoria says, “She is the coolest chick and has such a bright future ahead of her. I loved watching her be the star that she is, and it was beautiful to be on set with her. The entire cast was so sweet. When you're on location shooting, especially on an island, you get very close because all you can do is work and hang out."

Reficco, who is known for playing Noa Olivar in HBO Max’s “Pretty Little Liars” and Eurydice in her Broadway debut with “Hadestown,” also talks highly of Longoria’s ability to captivate her audience. “She's perfect. I love her. She's incredibly smart, beautiful, sweet and generous with her knowledge, and so inspiring. I look up to her, obviously, for a wide plethora of reasons. It was really special to get to learn from her and to witness firsthand how she commands a room and how she commands a set. I feel like I learned a lot from her."

Directed by Carlson Young and based on Anna Todd’s novel of the same name, “The Last Sunrise” also stars Fernando Lindez, Andrès Velencoso, Chloé Sweetlove and Sabrina Bartlett alongside Reficco and Longoria. It is set to premiere globally on August 26, 2026, on Prime Video.
