Suriya-starrer ‘Karuppu’ is Not Releasing on April 10, reveals Director RJ Balaji: ‘Your wait will be worth it’

Suriya-starrer “Karuppu” has been facing several delays in its theatrical release since 2025. Now, the director of the film, RJ Balaji, has shared that the mass actioner is entering its final stages and the official release date will be announced in 10 days.
“Now, back to the grind, we are resuming work on Karuppu. I understand the disappointment the fans, especially Suriya’s fans, have, as this statement has been made multiple times before. Of course, it has been a long wait for me, too. I have been working on this for almost two years,” said Balaji in a social media post.

“Your wait will be worth it. I am also not in the mindset to take more time for this. Within a week or 10 days, we will meet you with news about the film’s release date. I will also say that the film is not releasing on April 10,” he added.
Talking about the plot, the movie narrates the story of a lawyer who fights against the injustice in society after being possessed by a deity. The film also features Trisha Krishnan, alongside Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu in key roles.
Meanwhile, Suriya recently announced his next “Vishwanath & Sons.” The film is directed by Venky Atluri, best known for “Vaathi” and “Lucky Bhaskar” and produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments. The cast includes Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon. It also marks Tandon’s return to Tamil cinema after 24-years following Aalavandhan, which starred Kamal Haasan. Music for the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
