Robert Pattinson Says He’d Rather See Barry Keoghan Return as Joker Than Play the DC Villain Himself
Robert Pattinson is currently on the sets of “The Batman,” filming the much-awaited DC movie. While fans appreciate him as the caped crusader, many have been wondering whether he would want to helm the role of his antagonist, the Joker. Fans have floated Pattinson as a potential successor to Barry Keoghan’s version of the iconic DC villain, but the actor is firmly backing his “The Batman” co-star to continue in the role.
When Entertainment Weekly conveyed to him that fans want him in the role of the Joker, Pattinson says, “Oh, Jesus. I mean, it’s such a great part… but Barry’s the man.” He goes on to praise Barry Keoghan and his performance as the DC character. He also pointed to their shared deleted scene “The Batman” (2022), which has gone viral on social media.

Pattinson further adds, “I loved doing that scene with him so much. I love Barry, as well. I think he’s such a phenomenal actor. It was so fun doing that stuff with him. But yeah, I want him to do it. I’m much more interested in that.”
“The Batman Part II” is set to release in 2028. The filming is already ongoing. Fans are taking to social media to share photos and videos from the sets in Scotland. In the photos, the Batmobile is featured quite often, with Pattinson also wearing an upgraded batsuit.
Pattinson also revealed that the new “Batman” movie will be of “totally different direction” than its ancestor. He added, “It’s so ambitious. I mean, I sort of said the other day on something that the first one was a different take on a Batman movie, and this one is another… It’s a real left turn from the first one, but somehow it keeps elements of the kind of feel of it. But it just feels really ambitious, and I’m excited to see how it turns out."
