‘Ramayana’: Ranbir Kapoor’s Stunt Double Luke Ioannou Calls Him ‘One of the Best Actors’ He Has Worked With
Stunt performer Luke Ioannou has revealed that he served as Ranbir Kapoor’s stunt double in Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana”. Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets on Instagram, Ioannou described the experience as an unforgettable journey and praised Kapoor, calling him one of the best actors he has had the opportunity to work with.
“Feeling incredibly privileged to have been part of telling such an important story on Ramayana, stunt doubling for Ranbir Kapoor,” Ioannou wrote in the caption. He also thanked Ian Van Temperley and G Stunt Alliance Group for the opportunity, along with the cast and crew he worked with during the production.
Ioannou’s post offers a glimpse into the physical performance work behind the ambitious adaptation. His credits as a stunt performer include international productions such as “Wonder Woman”, “Wonder Woman 1984”, “No Time to Die” and “The Batman”. He has also worked on the television series “House of the Dragon”.

“Ramayana”, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, alongside Arun Govil, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor.
The two-part adaptation has brought together an international technical crew, with action choreography, visual effects and performance capture forming key parts of its production. The scale of the project has also drawn attention to the teams working behind the principal cast to bring its action sequences and epic settings to the screen.
The first instalment of “Ramayana” is scheduled to release in 2026, with the second part planned for 2028.
