‘Nocturne’: First Look, Release Date for Liev Schreiber, Stephen Graham and Zazie Beetz Starrer Apple TV Crime Drama Revealed
After “Cape Fear,” Apple TV is all set to deliver another stacked cast in its newest crime drama, “Nocturne,” the first look for which has been revealed. The series, based on internationally bestselling crime novels “Lazarus” and “The Sandman” by Lars Kepler, stars Liev Schreiber (“Ray Donovan”), Zazie Beetz (“They Will Kill You”) and Stephen Graham (“Adolescence”), alongside a bevy of supporting actors.
What is “Nocturne” about?
Schreiber plays former-soldier-turned-homicide detective Jonah Lynn, who, along with his family, moves from Philadelphia to Western Pennsylvania in pursuit of a quiet life. However, when his family and the town are being terrorised by a diabolical serial killer, Stephen Graham’s Jurek Walter, Lynn’s efforts to defend his loved ones pushes him to send his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer—played by Zazie Beetz—after Jurek.

“Nocturne” First-Look Photos
The two photos released by Apple TV reveal first look at Schreiber, Graham and Beetz’s characters. In the first photo, Schreiber’s Jonah Lynn seems to be visiting Graham’s serial killer Jurek in prison. In the other photo, Zazie Beetz as FBI Agent Saga Bauer stands before a murder board with several ‘missing persons’, most likely tracking the victims of Jurek.

Apart from Schreiber, Graham and Beetz, “Nocturne” includes Bill Camp (“Presumed Innocent”), Rory Culkin (“Black Mirror”), Chrissy Metz (“This Is Us”), Poorna Jagannathan (“Deli Boys”) and Gary Carr (“Downton Abbey”).

Nocturne is developed, written and executive produced by John Hlavin, who also serves as the showrunner, and created, written and executive produced by Rowan Joffe. Schreiber and Beetz are also executive producers. Author Lars Kepler (Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril) is also an executive producer alongside Øystein Karlsen, David Rysdahl, Dorothy Fortenberry and Niclas Salomonsson, with Julie Herrin as co-executive producer. For A+E Studios, Barry Jossen and Tana Jamieson serve as executive producers, while Heather Kadin, Peter Micelli and Jack Whigham are executive producers for Range Studios.
When does “Nocturne” release?
The 10-episode series will premiere globally on Friday, October 30 on Apple TV with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through December 25, 2026.
