‘Maa Behen’ Trailer Review: Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, And Dharna Durgaa Navigate A Wicked Family Cover-Up

Rekha, Jaya, and Sushma are back — but not with a washing powder. Nodding to the classic Nirma jingle, the trailer for Netflix's upcoming dark comedy “Maa Behen” features Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, and Dharna Durgaa playing characters with those very names. This time, however, they're cleansing their sins. Slated to release on June 4, the highly anticipated film also stars Ravi Kishan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Arunoday Singh and Shardul Bhardwaj.

Set in a conservative, close-knit neighborhood, the film revolves around a bizarre and wild "kaand" (mess) that turns a mundane, squabbling family’s life completely upside down. 

Rekha and her daughters are already controversial, standout figures in their conservative neighborhood. Their mundane lives are completely upended when they find a dead body (Ravi Kishan) right in their kitchen. Plunged into a sudden crisis, the dysfunctional trio must work together to fabricate stories, cover up the bizarre crime, and prevent their highly inquisitive neighbors from uncovering the truth.

What is evident and enjoyable right from the get-go is the constant love-hate relationship that Rekha has with her daughters. It’s relatable as the dialogues hit home, reminding audiences of the constant back-and-forth banter they have with their parents and siblings. All these differences are put aside when there’s trouble lurking not just at their doorstep but right inside their home, and the trio hatches a plan to cover up the crime. What adds to the intrigue is that the trailer at no point reveals how did the victim pass away or who could have possibly done it. 

Are these three being framed or does one of them have a secret they don’t want to come out? People will have to wait and watch. Looks like this will be a sensational scandal.
