Ma Dong Seok Joins Chris Hemsworth in ‘Extraction 3’ After Korean Spin-Off ‘TYGO’ With Lisa, Lee Jin Wook
Ma Dong Seok is extending his action prowess. The actor’s agency confirmed his role in the upcoming third edition of the Netflix production “Extraction”. The OTT platform announced that production for “Extraction 3” is on.
As per his management, Big Punch Entertainment, the actor will be appearing in the new film. “Following his role as the lead of ‘TYGO,’ a spin-off film based on the ‘Extraction’ universe, Ma Dong Seok will also join ‘Extraction 3,’ continuing his global action career,” they said. The production has begun filming as of August 17 local time and stars Ma Dong Seok, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Golshifteh Farahani, Pierce Brosnan, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Parry, and Sienna Agudong.

The third part in the franchise, “Extraction 3,” follows the Korean spin-off, “TYGO,” which will be led by Ma Dong Seok (Don Lee) alongside K-pop idol turned actor BLACKPINK member Lisa and Lee Jin Wook. Ma Dong Seok is known to play the titular mercenary who used to be a child soldier in the project.
“Extraction 3” is being directed by Sam Hargrave, who also helmed the first two instalments, with Joe Russo and David Weil taking on the screenplay. Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake will undertake a new mission in the film; however, further details on the plot are awaited.

Ma Dong Seok is known to be filming the Heo Myeong Haeng directorial “The Roundup 5,” which is currently scheduled for release in 2027, where he will return as Detective Ma Seok Do. Kim Jae Young has been roped in to play the antagonist in the actioner.
