‘Awarapan 2’ Box Office: Emraan Hashmi To Finally Get His First ₹100 Crore Film As Lead Actor
The box office collections of “Awarapan 2” have shattered all predictions and calculations, emerging as a phenomenon at the Indian box office. Despite releasing alongside “Batwara 1947” --starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan, also Suriya’s “Vishwanath and Sons,” the romantic action-thriller became the first choice for the audiences.
It has raked in ₹91 crore in four days and is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark in the domestic market by tomorrow. Interestingly, “Awarapan 2” will be Emraan Hashmi’s first film as a lead actor to hit a century in his career spanning over two decades.

His previous highest grosser, “Raaz 3,” collected ₹69.73 crore during its theatrical run. However, he has two films in the ₹100 crore club, but he was not the protagonist in those films. The first being Salman Khan’s “Tiger 3” (₹282.79 crore), the other was a Telugu flick, “They Call Him OG,” headlined by Pawan Kalyan (₹194.15 crore).
Since “Awarapan 2” has no big competition until the arrival of Yash-starrer “Toxic” on August 26, it will easily cross the ₹ 150 crore mark; however, the trend on weekdays will decide whether it can achieve the milestone of ₹200 crore.
The film became “Hit On Arrival” on the release day due to an insane response and a modest budget.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar of “Jawaani Jaaneman,” “Notebook” and “Filmistan” fame, the movie also features Disha Patani, Puran Gabbi, Aniruddh Rawal, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Shabana Azmi in key roles.
Produced by Vishesh Bhatt and written by Bilal Siddiqui, the music of “Awarapan 2” is composed by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Mallik, Akhil Sachdeva and Wasif Ahmad. The film is shot by DoP Vishnu Rao, while Devendra Murdeshwar edited it.
