‘Awarapan 2’ Box Office: Every Benchmark Set By Emraan Hashmi-starrer On Its First Day

The opening-day business of the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Awarapan 2 has vastly exceeded commercial forecasts and industry expectations, signaling an aggressive return to form for the franchise. While the advance booking made jt evident that it would have a double-digit debut, the film registered a  Day 1 domestic net collection of ₹21 crore. Along with this exceptional start, the film has also shattered multiple historic theatrical benchmarks, breathing substantial momentum back into the franchise's commercial standing

Emraan Hashmi’s Biggest Opener As A Lead Hero

After a string of average and underperforming films, as a lead protagonist, Emraan Hashmi made a solid comeback with “Awarapan 2,” delivering his career’s biggest opener, surpassing “Raaz 3” (10.33 crore) by a huge margin. His two biggest films as a supporting actor — “Tiger 3” (headlined by Salman Khan) and Pawan Kalyan-starrer “They Call Him OG” raked in ₹44.50 crore and ₹63.75 crore, respectively.

Third Biggest Hindi Opener Of The Year

“Awarapan 2” overtook several Hindi films like Ajay Devgn starrer  “Dhamaal 4” (₹14 crore), and Akshay Kumar starters “Bhooth Bangla” (₹12.25 crore), and “Welcome To The Jungle” (₹15.25 crore) to become the third biggest Hindi of the year after “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” (₹102.55 crore) and “Border 2” (₹30 crore).

Seventh Biggest Indian Opener Of 2026

Among the too Indian openers of 2026, “Awarapan 2” grabbed the seventh spot in the list after “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” (₹102.55 crore), “The Raja Saab” (₹53.75 crore), “Peddi” (₹51 crore), “Jana Nayagan” (₹42.75 crore), “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” (₹32.25 crore) and “Border 2” (₹30 crore).

With a solid jump expected today and tomorrow, “Awarapan 2” is on track to cross the ₹70 crore mark in the opening weekend.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar of “Jawaani Jaaneman,” “Notebook” and “Filmistan” fame, the movie also features Disha Patani, Suvinder Vicky and Shabana Azmi in key roles.

Produced by Vishesh Bhatt and written by Bilal Siddiqui, the music of “Awarapan 2” is composed by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, Amaal Mallik, Akhil Sachdeva and Wasif Ahmad.
