Korean dramas are some of the most consumed types of content in India and a recent report by Ormax Media confirms this. The data shows that as many as 107.8 million Indians watch K-Dramas at least once a month across the hundreds of shows available on the many platforms streaming them.

Compared to last year, the consumption of the shows has grown immensely, with the audience base increasing by as much as 48% as opposed to the numbers in 2025. The report also reveals that out of all the people watching OTT shows, 23% of females tune in to stream K-dramas, while only 11% of OTT-consuming males watch Korean-language shows. Over-The-Top content, which is believed to be a male-dominant category, changes hands when it comes to K-Dramas, with 60% being women in India. Its female inclination is higher than that of any other content format.
Of the many shows coming to the masses every year, “Squid Game” continues to be a fan favorite. It is the most-watched K-Drama in India to date, with over 20 million in unique viewership across its three seasons. Among the many K-Dramas releasing in India, 2026 leads with “Teach You a Lesson” and “If Wishes Could Kill” coming up as the most popular.

Netflix, Amazon MX Player, Amazon Prime Video, and JioHotstar are some of the OTT platforms providing K-Drama viewing in India; however, out of the over 100 million unique consumers, 58% of viewers are AVOD (Advertising-Based Video on Demand), i.e they do not access paid subscriptions.
