“Heated Rivalry” is arguably one of the best releases to come out of 2025, so much so that a second season was soon confirmed and is now in production. It made breakout stars out of Connor Storie and Hudson Williams, with a recent announcement revealing Justice Smith and Charlie Gillespie as the leads for the upcoming edition. As the cast begins production for season 2, Dylan Walsh, who plays Shane Hollander’s father David, spilled some nitty-gritty details which have since gone big around the fan base.

“Getting ready to go back up to Canada and shoot some more episodes… I think we’re doing 12 this time,” he said during a chat on TikTok’s new integration with Cameo, which was then shared on X and widely circulated. It led the viewers to believe that season 2 and season 3 of “Heated Rivalry” will be shot one after the other, in line with season 1, which had six episodes.

According to reports, the actor shared that he’ll be pausing his profile after sharing the details, “Stepping away because a video went viral that got me in trouble.” It is believed that all cast members of the upcoming season have gathered in Canada, where the two leads have been spotted going out and about multiple times.

The Crave Original became a phenomenon for its emotional take on queer romance between two ice hockey players from different countries. Based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling Game Changer series, “Heated Rivalry” plans to premiere its season 2 in spring 2027.
