A film’s opening day showcases the star power of its lead actors and their ability to draw audiences to the cinema halls. While an opening of over ₹50 crore is very rare in Hindi films, several major actors have achieved this milestone with their star power, the benefit of national holidays and the popularity of the franchise. Ajay Devgn’s “Drishyam: The Conclusion” is the latest release to benefit from all of these.
Shah Rukh Khan: ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’
The megastar is the only actor with two ₹50+ crore openers in Indian film history. Interestingly, the actor delivered them back-to-back in 2023 with “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” The spy-actioner, which released during the Republic Day weekend, opened with ₹55 crore, while the Atlee directorial, which arrived in September, earned ₹65.50 crore on its first day.
Ranveer Singh: ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’
Ranveer Singh delivered the biggest Hindi opener of all time with “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” which raked in ₹99.10 crore on its first day. The Aditya Dhar directorial, which released in March 2026, also featured Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan, among others in key roles.
