Box Office Weekend Winners: ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Roars, ‘Cocktail 2’ stays steady, ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ Continues Remarkable Run

The Indian box office belonged to "Welcome to the Jungle" over the June 26 to 28 weekend. The Akshay Kumar led ensemble comedy collected ₹57.80 crore net across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, after adding ₹3.80 crore net from Thursday previews for a total of ₹61.60 crore net in India.

The film opened to ₹14.30 crore net on Friday, then surged to ₹19.50 crore net on Saturday before climbing further to ₹24 crore net on Sunday. The numbers give the franchise entertainer a strong launch pad heading into its crucial weekday hold.

Cocktail 2 Holds Steady

Homi Adajania’s "Cocktail 2" remained one of the week’s steadier performers. The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna starrer collected ₹12.05 crore net over the weekend, adding ₹3.55 crore net on Friday, ₹4.20 crore net on Saturday and ₹4.30 crore net on Sunday.

The romantic comedy has now reached ₹79.71 crore net in India, keeping it comfortably in play as it heads deeper into its theatrical run.

Main Vaapas Aaunga Continues Its Word of Mouth Run

Imtiaz Ali’s "Main Vaapas Aaunga" also stayed in circulation, adding ₹11.47 crore net over the latest weekend. The film collected ₹2.75 crore net on Friday, ₹4.22 crore net on Saturday and ₹4.50 crore net on Sunday.

Its cumulative India net now stands at ₹45.65 crore, underlining the film’s unusual run as a word of mouth driven title that has held far better than its opening would have suggested.

Obsession Keeps Its Long Run Alive

Hollywood psychological horror title "Obsession" continued its theatrical journey with ₹2.32 crore net over the weekend. The film earned ₹0.50 crore net on Friday, ₹0.90 crore net on Saturday and ₹0.92 crore net on Sunday.

That takes its India total to ₹84.31 crore net, making it the week’s biggest running title in cumulative terms even as its latest weekend remains modest.

Supergirl Opens Below Expectations

DC Studios’ "Supergirl" managed ₹4.20 crore nett in its opening weekend in India. The film collected ₹1.55 crore net on Friday, ₹1.60 crore net on Saturday and ₹1.05 crore net on Sunday.

The Milly Alcock starrer will now need stronger weekday support if it is to build any meaningful momentum in the Indian market.

Smaller Holdovers Continue to Tread Water

Among the smaller holdovers, Vikram Bhatt’s "Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past" collected ₹0.09 crore net over the weekend, taking its total to ₹18.38 crore net.

"Disclosure Day" added ₹0.18 crore net across the three days, lifting its total to ₹9.52 crore net. "Backrooms" collected ₹0.25 crore net over the weekend and now stands at ₹5.99 crore net in India.

With "Welcome to the Jungle" setting the pace and several holdovers continuing to contribute across the board, the June 26 to 28 frame offered a full slate of theatrical business across Hindi and international titles.
