Last weekend was eventful at the box office, with holdover releases “Drishyam: The Conclusion” and “Premada Oorali” dominating ticket sales in the absence of new prominent Indian releases. The Hollywood project “The Social Reckoning,” which released last weekend, opened to a lukewarm response at the domestic box office.

‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ becomes Ajay Devgn’s highest-grosser  of all time

With no new release last weekend, Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller remained cinegoers’ first choice. It raked in ₹63.50 crore in its second weekend and now stands at ₹309 crore. The film has become Devgn’s highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” (₹279.59 crore).

‘Premada Oorali’ Continues Its Dream Run

After a slow start, the small-budget Kannada film has become a surprise box-office blockbuster. In fact, the third-weekend collections (₹19.25 crore) are more than three times its first-week numbers (₹5.32 crore) and more than its entire second-week business (₹18.33 crore). The family drama currently stands at ₹48.22 crore.

Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Baththa’ Holds Strong

The Tamil action-comedy drama did strong business in its third weekend, driven by solid word-of-mouth. It raked in ₹7.95 crore in the last three days, taking its total business to ₹23.41 crore.

‘Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil’ Stays Steady

The animated science-fantasy adventure film remained steady in its second weekend despite limited shows and screens. It collected ₹5.55 crore in its previous weekend and now stands at ₹17.84 crore.

‘Dorothy’ In Survival Mode

Amid the clutter of several releases across the country, Keerthy Suresh’s “Dorothy” has survived its third weekend by earning ₹2.38 crore, taking its grand total to ₹13.82 crore. It is expected to end its theatrical run at around ₹16 crore.
