Box Office: ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ Gains Momentum With Nearly 50% Jump On Saturday, ‘Karuppu’ Continues Dominance
Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer “Pati, Patni Aur Woh Do” witnessed a significant surge on its second day, gaining momentum at the box office. The romantic comedy which also stars Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet, collected ₹5.6 crore on Saturday, taking its two-day total to ₹9.40 crore net.
The film recorded an impressive 50% jump on Saturday, indicating that it has found acceptance among a section of the audience despite mixed reviews. However, this jump has had a limited impact due to the film's underwhelming opening on Friday. It is expected to witness another jump today, likely resulting in a ₹16 crore net opening weekend.

With the weekend growth, it remains to be seen if “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do” will reach the numbers it needs to emerge as a box-office success. The word-of-mouth is strong for this Ayushmann starrer.
Meanwhile, Suriya's Tamil action entertainer “Karuppu” continued its dominance at the box office. After opening strongly with ₹14.50 crore on Friday, the film witnessed a massive jump of nearly 40% on Saturday, underlining its strong audience acceptance. The film collected ₹20.50 crore on its second day, pushing its two-day total to ₹35 crore net at the domestic box office.
“Karuppu” also performed extremely well overseas, adding ₹24 crore from the international market for a worldwide total of ₹69 crore gross. The film carries positive word-of-mouth and is here to stay as the top choice for moviegoers this week. With another substantial jump expected today (May 17), “Karuppu” is now eyeing a nearly ₹60 crore net weekend in India, positioning itself as Suriya’s much-needed comeback film at the box office.
