Ajay Devgn-Akshay Kumar’s ‘Golmaal 5’ Locks January 8, 2027 Release

"Golmaal 5" is set to arrive in cinemas on January 8, 2027. The release date for Rohit Shetty’s fifth instalment in the "Golmaal" franchise was announced on Saturday, with the makers promising another round of chaos when the comedy series returns to the big screen.

The film reunites Ajay Devgn with the franchise’s returning ensemble, including Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and Sharman Joshi. Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashwini Kalsekar are also part of the cast.

"Golmaal 5" marks the franchise’s return nearly a decade after "Golmaal Again", which released in 2017. The series began with "Golmaal: Fun Unlimited" in 2006, followed by "Golmaal Returns" in 2008, "Golmaal 3" in 2010 and "Golmaal Again" in 2017.

Rohit Shetty returns as director, continuing his association with the franchise across all five films. The filmmaker had previously confirmed that the fifth instalment was in development, with production getting underway in 2026.

Akshay Kumar is also part of "Golmaal 5". Variety India had exclusively reported that Kumar has joined the film as the antagonist opposite Devgn. The casting brings the two actors together in Shetty’s comedy franchise for the first time.

Sharman Joshi, who appeared in the first "Golmaal", has also returned to the franchise after an absence from the previous instalments. The actor confirmed in September that he had wrapped his portion of the film.
