Hashir H, Alan Bin Siraj, Vinayak V and Ajin Joy’s “Vaazha 2” has won big at the global box office. After enjoying a record-breaking opening week, the film continued its dominance despite the arrival of new releases to become the biggest Mollywood grosser of the year, beating Jayasurya’s “Aadu 3.”

The film currently stands with a global total of ₹169.75 crore (India Gross: ₹95.50 crore, Overseas: ₹74.25 crore), as per Sacnilk.

It has surpassed the business of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s “Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life” (₹160.08 crore) and Fahadh Faasil’s “Aavesham” (₹156.48 crore) to achieve this distinction of being the sixth-highest Malayalam grosser ever.

“Vaazha 2” is now trailing “Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra” (₹305.17 crore), “L2: Empuraan” (₹268.23 crore), “Manjummel Boys” (₹241.56 crore), “Thudarum” (₹237.76 crore) and “2018” (₹181 crore).

With the arrival of Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar-starrer “Pallichattambi” and Kunchako Boban’s “Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil" tomorrow on the festival of Vishu, it would be interesting to see the performance of “Vaazha 2” at the ticket windows.

Directed by Savin Sa, the film also features Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Bijukuttan and filmmaker Alphonse Puthren in supporting roles.
