Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding: Everything Pointing to a New York Celebration
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding speculations have reached a fever pitch after a series of developments in New York sparked widespread speculation. From reported street closure requests and increased security around Madison Square Garden to celebrity arrivals and playful remarks from Mayor Zohran Mamdani, fans are convinced the couple could be preparing to say "I do” very, very soon. While neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed the buzz, the wedding might just happen around American Independence Day weekend, July 4 and 5.

An NYC Wedding
New York City authorities told the BBC that an application had been submitted to close a street near the Madison Square Garden during the American Independence Day weekend on July 4.
Moreover, several members of the Kansas City Chiefs, the team Kelce plays for, have reserved hotel accommodations nearby.
During a recent news conference, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch also noted that it was scheduled to provide staffing for an event at the arena later this week. The first celebration is a rehearsal dinner with 100 people, while the second, larger celebration is set for Friday night into Saturday morning, with a head count of one thousand people.
As per previous developments, the event is set to feature musical shows. In fact, rock legend Stevie Nicks may perform at the grand nuptials, but the same hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Changes in Madison Square Garden
There are barricades already set up across Madison Square Garden, with added officials, units and tactical personnel at the venue. Workers were also seen installing a red carpet on the staircase of the venue. However, it was removed shortly, as the carpet was supposed to be purple.
In fact, as per the BBC, large trucks were also spotted near the arena. There were signs being moved from one place to another, with the words “Garden Party” and “GP” written on them. Many crews are also loading and unloading stage equipment.
Zohran Mamdani’s Update
New York City’s mayor Zohran Mamdani held a press conference to prepare New Yorkers for extreme heat in the city. When a reporter asked about the upcoming nuptials, Mamdani’s response was, “And to that point, should New Yorkers be aware of street closures that we saw during the Knicks games and watch parties and those types of things?" He added, “My recommendation to all New Yorkers is to stay inside and stay cool. And if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool. And I think it's a good example to set for the city at large.”
During a public service announcement on July 1, Mamdani shared on social media, “Here's what you should know about the historic heat wave headed our way. Especially if you're (hypothetically) having your wedding at MSG this weekend.”

Guests Arrive in New York
Sabrina Carpenter and Ed Sheeran have been photographed in New York. Sabrina was clicked in the West Village, grabbing pizza with her friends at Emmett's on Grove. Ed, along with Aaron Dessner, one of Taylor’s frequent collaborators, were seen dining together in Malta. American singer and songwriter, Jack Antonoff, who is a friend and collaborator of Swift, was also seen in the area. Suki Waterhouse had confirmed to Variety that she would attend Taylor and Travis’ wedding without a miss. Speaking about the jitters of planning her own wedding (presumably with partner Robert Pattinson), Suki said, “I'm gonna go to Taylor's wedding, and maybe I'll get some inspiration. It will be amazing.”
