‘Salaar 2’: Prabhas and Prashanth Neel to Begin Shooting in June 2027

After teasing the “Kalki 2898 AD” sequel with a special behind-the-scenes glimpse and unveiling a power-packed teaser of “Fauzi,” Prabhas’s fans received another special gift on the actor’s 47th birthday, as director Prashanth Neel confirmed that “Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam” will go on floors in June 2027.

On the eve of Prabhas’s birthday, Prashanth Neel met the actor and shared a heartwarming video that has since generated considerable excitement among fans. The duo can be seen exchanging a warm hug before engaging in some lighthearted banter. When Prabhas jokingly asks the director about his birthday gift, Neel smiles and hints that the sequel itself is the gift, confirming that “Salaar 2” will officially begin filming in June next year.

Earlier this year, the film’s producer, Vijay Kiragandur, shared an important update about the highly anticipated sequel in an interview with Variety India.

“Prashanth Neel is, undoubtedly, one of the finest directors working today, and like all great artists, he is his own toughest critic. The reality is that ‘Salaar’ was a mammoth success at the global box office and remains one of the most-watched films on OTT. Building on that massive foundation, ‘Salaar 2’ is going to be an absolute behemoth. We are constantly inundated with fan requests regarding its development, and we are thrilled to share that we will be diving into production on it very soon,” Kiragandur said.

Released in 2023, “Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire” emerged as a major commercial success. The Prabhas-starrer became the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2023, the third-highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, the highest-grossing A-rated Telugu film of all time, and the 19th-highest-grossing Indian film at the end of its theatrical run.

The sequel is expected to bring back several key cast members from the first instalment, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Bobby Simha and Easwari Rao, among others.
