Two prominent Hindi releases, “Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam” and “Nayyi Navveli,” have arrived today at the ticket windows. Since these releases came after a dry week, they were expected to open at least with fair numbers. However, both films registered low occupancy in morning shows, attracting fewer footfalls.
From the second half of the day, word-of-mouth will play a critical role as it will reflect the opening day and first weekend collections of both films.
Among other prominent films, Rajinikanth-starrer “Jailer 2,” which released yesterday, garnered decent numbers in its Hindi-dubbed version. With an opening day collection of ₹3.50 crore, it is expected to give a tough fight to new Hindi releases and post a respectable total in its extended opening weekend.
“Street Fighter” and “Whalefall” also had lower morning theater fill rates due to the sheer dominance of “Jailer 2,” especially in the southern part of the country.
