‘Peddi’ to ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’: Everything Releasing In Theatres This Week

The first week of June is bringing an unusually varied theatrical slate to Indian cinemas. Telugu big-ticket spectacles, Hindi comedies, Malayalam dramedies, Marathi entertainers and Hollywood franchise revivals are all arriving together, giving audiences a wide spread of genres to choose from. Leading the pack is Ram Charan’s ambitious sports action drama “Peddi,” while David Dhawan returns to big-screen comedy with “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.”

Hollywood, meanwhile, is betting on nostalgia with “Masters of the Universe” and the return of the “Scary Movie” franchise. Regional cinema also remains strong this week with releases like “Tumbadchi Manjula,” “Mollywood Times” and “Sarpanch” adding to the mix.
