Missing from ‘Welcome To The Jungle’: Why Sanjay Dutt, Mika Singh and Others Dropped Out (EXCLUSIVE)

Welcome to the Jungle” is one of the biggest multi-starers in recent times. While the film headlined by Akshay Kumar featured actors like Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor, to name a few, there were some actors whose names appeared in the early announcements and promotional material of the film, but were missing from the final cut. While some had to withdraw from the project due to scheduling conflicts, others withdrew for personal reasons. Here is the lowdown.

Sanjay Dutt: Welcoming Sanjay Dutt on board, Akshay Kumar had shared a reel on his Instagram, in which he was riding on a horse, while Dutt followed him on a bike. Dutt was even seen on some early posters. But he gave the film a miss. Reports indicate that he withdrew from the project due to health reasons.

Sharib Hashmi: Sharib Hashmi even filmed a promotional song before stepping away. He explains, “I signed the film when there was no clash with any other project, but the shooting got delayed, and by the time the shooting dates came to me, it clashed with the ‘The Family Man Season 3’ schedule. So, I had to say no to  ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’”

Rahul Dev: Rahul Dev says, "I would have loved to be part of Welcome to the Jungle.” He revealed that his schedule for Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ikkis’ affected his availability.

Inaamulhaq: Inaamulhaq chose not to continue with the project for several reasons. He was working on his own production and also wanted clarity about his role before joining. He says, “How could I be in a film if I don’t know what kind of world I am going to be part of?”

Mika Singh: Mika Singh featured in the teaser, but the reason behind his absence from the film remained unclear. His brother, Daler Mehndi, however, was seen in a brief cameo in the movie.
