Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s Anurag Basu Film Sets April 30, 2027 Theatrical Release
Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s upcoming film with filmmaker Anurag Basu has locked a new theatrical release date. The yet untitled romantic musical is set to arrive in cinemas on April 30, 2027.
The film, which brings Kartik and Sreeleela together for the first time on screen, is directed by Basu and produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T Series banner. Pritam is composing the music for the project, which has remained without an officially confirmed title amid speculation surrounding its release plans.
The announcement follows months of uncertainty over the film’s release timeline. Initially expected to arrive in 2025, the project was subsequently pushed back as its production schedule evolved. In April 2026, Basu told Variety India that the film was not as close to completion as widely believed, revealing that only 45 days of shooting had been completed at that point. The team subsequently continued work on the romantic drama.

In July 2026, Kumar indicated that the film was more or less complete, with its release date yet to be finalised. The April 30, 2027, announcement now gives the project a confirmed date on the theatrical calendar.
For Anurag Basu, the film marks another collaboration with composer Pritam, with whom he has worked on projects including “Barfi!”, “Jagga Jasoos” and “Metro... In Dino”. The filmmaker is known for combining romance with music driven storytelling, making the Kartik and Sreeleela starrer a notable addition to his filmography.
