Jackie Shroff, Sharad Kelkar to Lead Rural Horror Film ‘Kheti’; First Look Poster Revealed (EXCLUSIVE)

The first poster for the upcoming rural horror film “Kheti,” shared exclusively with Variety India, offers an initial look at the project led by Jackie Shroff and Sharad Kelkar. The film also stars Neha Sargam, Virendra Saxena and Shaji Choudhary in key roles.

Written and directed by Haris Imtiyaz Khan and produced by Sana Khan, “Kheti” is backed by BlackCanvas Studio. The film is set against a rural backdrop and combines horror elements with themes involving family relationships, legacy and unresolved secrets.

The first look introduces the film's visual world while revealing little about the central conflict. The poster leans into an eerie atmosphere and hints at a narrative built around fear and buried truths, keeping the larger story under wraps. The rural setting appears central to the film’s identity and narrative structure.

Over the past few years, Indian horror has expanded across different styles and settings, with filmmakers exploring stories rooted in local cultures, folklore and psychological themes. “Kheti” appears to move within that space by placing its narrative within a rural environment and combining emotional themes with genre storytelling.
