Drishyam: The Conclusion’ Box Office: Ajay Devgn Joins Shah Rukh Khan With Five ₹200 Crore Grossers

Ajay Devgn’s “Drishyam: The Conclusion” has emerged as a massive box office winner, raking in ₹217 crore in five days in the domestic market. While the crime thriller is expected to enter the ₹250 crore club, its lead star has now achieved an elite milestone at the ticket window.

With the finale of the “Drishyam” franchise, Devgn now has five ₹200 crore grossers, including “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” (₹279.59 crore), “Singham Again” (₹247.86 crore), “Drishyam 2” (₹239.67 crore) and “Golmaal Again” (₹205.69 crore).

The actor has equalled Shah Rukh Khan’s record, whose five ₹200 crore grossers include “Chennai Express” (₹227.13 crore), “Happy New Year” (₹203 crore), “Pathaan” (₹543.09 crore), “Jawan” (₹640.25 crore) and “Dunki” (₹227 crore).

Salman Khan holds the record for the most ₹200 crore grossers, with seven films — “Kick” (₹231.85 crore), “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” (₹320.34 crore), “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” (₹210.16 crore), “Sultan” (₹300.45 crore), “Tiger Zinda Hai” (₹339.16 crore), “Bharat” (₹212.03 crore) and “Tiger 3” (₹282.79 crore).

With no major competition, “Drishyam: The Conclusion” will enjoy a free run next week and will likely become Devgn’s first film to enter the ₹300 crore club.

The film will overtake “Mirzapur: The Movie” (₹230.08 crore*) today to emerge as the fourth-highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, after “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” (₹1,149.30 crore), “Border 2” (₹329.43 crore) and “Hanuman Ansh” (₹326.48 crore*).

Unlike its previous parts, “Drishyam: The Conclusion” features an original story and is not narratively connected to its Malayalam counterpart, which was headlined by Mohanlal.

While Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Kamlesh Sawant, Saurabh Shukla, Samvedna Suwalka and Mrunal Jadhav are reprising their roles, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj are new additions to the final instalment.The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak.
