After a dry week at the box office, two prominent films will release this Friday: “Prahaar - The Ujjwal Nikam Story,” headlined by Rajkummar Rao, and Yami Gautam’s “Nayyi Navelli.”
Both films have generated buzz with strong promotional assets. However, they will rely heavily on word-of-mouth to put a healthy total at the ticket windows. While the target audience and market for both films are different due to their genre and appeal, their content will play a pivotal role, as neither movie has commercial elements like action and music.
According to analytics platform Recobee.AI, “Prahaar” is expected to earn ₹3.5 crore on its first day, while “Nayyi Navelli” is expected to open at ₹2 crore. Their growth over the weekend will depend on how they click with audiences. It will also be interesting to see whether the Hindi-dubbed version of Rajinikanth’s “Jailer 2” gives these two films a tough fight at the box office in the northern part of the country.
