Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield are reuniting on screen as parents in the family adventure, “The Magic Faraway Tree,” releasing on September 4 in India. It is adapted from Enid Blyton’s beloved classic of the same name. The two actors have previously shared screen space in Andy Serkis’ “Breathe” in 2017.

About the reunion with Garfield, Foy says they have been friends since working together on “Breathe.” She adds, “It doesn’t feel like forever since we were last together, but it’s a privilege to do a job where you can come in and out of people’s lives and work together again.” Foy jokes that Garfield could have disagreed with the reunion. “He could have said, ‘Absolutely not,’” she adds.

For Garfield, Foy was already in his mind when he first read the screenplay. “I don’t know what it was, but I was imagining Claire as I read it. And then it happened! I love working with Claire. I love being with her and being near her energy. I feel like there’s a comfort level there,” he shares.

Director Ben Gregor also says their dynamic brought an infectious warmth to the story. “There’s this warm energy about them when they’re together that feels really infectious,” Gregor adds, adding that the film needed actors like Garfield and Foy to bring emotionality to the parents’ journey.
