Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Gets Major TV Cuts, Runtime Reduced By Nearly 10 Minutes
Ranveer Singh’s "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" is set to make its television premiere on Star Gold with a significantly trimmed version of the film. The blockbuster spy action-thriller, which had a theatrical runtime of 3 hours, 49 minutes and 6 seconds, or 229 minutes, has undergone extensive censorship to meet the requirements for its television broadcast.
The film is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, October 18 at 7 PM, exclusively on Star Gold.
While the theatrical version of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ was certified A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and released with 21 cuts, its television version has required another round of substantial restructuring. To make the film suitable for a U/A 16+ television certification, several portions have reportedly been trimmed or altered.

The most significant changes involve the film’s intense action sequences. Given the film’s hard-edged spy action setting, several scenes feature graphic violence, bloodshed and gore. These moments have been substantially reduced for the television version.
Sensitive dialogue and portions considered unsuitable for a U/A 16+ television audience have also been edited. As a result, the television cut is expected to run approximately 10 minutes shorter than the 229-minute theatrical version.
That means audiences tuning in to the Star Gold premiere will not be watching the film in exactly the same form as those who experienced it in cinemas.
The extensive edits are particularly notable because of the film’s already long theatrical runtime. At nearly four hours, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ was designed as a sprawling big-screen action spectacle. The television version will consequently offer a more streamlined presentation, with certain violent and graphic passages shortened or removed.
For viewers who want to experience the film in its theatrical form, the 229-minute version of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is available to stream on JioHotstar. The platform also carries the extended ‘Raw & Undekha’ cut, giving audiences access to material that may not make it to television.
The Star Gold premiere, meanwhile, gives the Ranveer Singh-led blockbuster a chance to reach a television audience, but with the film's most intense material modified to comply with broadcast certification requirements.
For fans who have already seen the theatrical release, the differences between the two versions could make the television premiere a noticeably different viewing experience — particularly in the film's action-heavy stretches.
