Will Salman Khan, Sooraj Barjatya Reunite To Bring ‘Prem’ Back On Screens; Actor’s Statement On ‘Bigg Boss 20″ Suggests That

Salman Khan has played “Prem” in 15 Hindi films. His most notable outings have been in Sooraj Barjatya’s movies like “Maine Pyar Kiya” (1989), “Hum Aapke Hain Koun!” (1994), “Hum Saath Saath Hain” (1999) and “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” (2015). This weekend, the star cast of “Prem Keetanu,” Veer Pahariya and Nikhil Vijay were on “Bigg Boss 20.” 

Commenting on ‘Prem’ in the title of the movie, Khan said that films were made where my character was named Prem. He said that it became his most popular onscreen name after “Maine Pyar Kiya.” He said more movies will follow where his character will be named ‘Prem’. Over the years, fans of Khan have been waiting for an announcement with Barjatya and this has warmed hearts. 


Barjatya’s next film, “Yeh Prem Mol Liya,” is all set to release on November 27. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari in lead roles. In 2025, Barjatya had said that Khan and he are keen to work together but he is looking for a script that is age appropriate but has the essence of his films, which celebrate family values and togetherness. He said the script is taking some time to develop. “Yeh Prem Mol Liya” is a love story set in small-town India. 

Salman Khan is busy working on “Monster,” which is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Nayanthara is his leading lady. The actor will be seen in a new look in this action-packed drama. He began his shoot for this film from April 2026. The cast also includes Jackie Shroff, Rahul Dev and Seema Biswas. 
 

“Bigg Boss 20” clocked more than 18 million viewers in the first week. The reality TV show features contestants like Kanika Mann, Qazi Touqeer, Uditi Singh, Aman Gandhi, Mary Kom, Arifsha Khan, Gullu, Love Gill, Aasif Khan, Yung DSA (real name: Harsh Machare) and ScoutOP (real name: Tanmay Singh).
